Our doctor, who was born in Bursa and completed his primary and secondary education here, graduated from Bursa Science High School in 1993; He completed his medical education at Çapa (Istanbul) Faculty of Medicine between 93-99. Dr. Murat Çalıkapan, who was interested in breast surgery even during his medical school years, completed his general surgery specialization at Dr. Lütfi Kırdar Kartal Training and Research Hospital. Our doctor, who wrote his specialist thesis on breast cancer, worked as a volunteer surgeon at Van Muradiye State Hospital for approximately 6 months. In 2006, he worked at the Breast Diseases Center at the European Oncology Institute (Milan); he received training in Oncoplastic Surgery and successfully performed these surgeries on his patients. He also used breast reduction procedures in patients with macromastia (large breasts) and in the treatment of breast cancer cases. Between

2006 and 2017, he performed numerous surgeries in the field of breast and thyroid surgery at Bursa Oncology Hospital and implemented many new oncoplastic procedures. Doctor Murat Çalıkapan has been on the board of directors of professional organizations such as the Turkish Surgery Association, Federation of Breast Associations, Breast Surgery Association, Bursa Breast Surgery Association, Endocrine Surgery Association, as well as social solidarity associations such as Onko-Day and Yeşilpedal Bicycle Association. Murat Çalkapan, who works as a lecturer at Balıkesir University Bandırma Health Vocational School, has given numerous conferences and seminars on breast surgery, thyroid surgery and first aid.

He participated in joint public screenings with the Cancer Early Diagnosis, Screening and Training Center (KETEM) as a consultant doctor and took part in the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer. Murat Çalkapan, who has many domestic and international publications, defined a new method in oncoplastic breast surgery with his colleagues in 2010 and presented this application to the medical literature.
